About Me

My photo
I am an interior design student studying in London and living in Edinburgh. I wanted the opportunity to write about topics I love that are interiors related. This blog looks to catalogue the things that I have found that inspire me, and the personal projects I love doing. I hope you enjoy reading and leaving your comments too. Thank you for visiting J Loves Interiors

“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”…

It’s the time of year for a bit of seasonal sparkle. This month inspiration for a window treatment was taken from the magnificent Christmas interior styling feature in Livingetc magazine (December edition), which has been adapted.

Below; the finished window treatment, would you like to know how?  Please read on…

Below; large silver metallic paper chains were made from florists ribbon and fixed using double-sided tape.  Carnmeal Cottage sells a myriad of beautiful colours of ribbon for the job.

The unexpected contrast of brightly coloured wreaths (Paperchase) seem to work well in traditional frames (eBay), although you could let you imagination run wild…. Oversized baubles, vintage children’s ballet shoes, antique toys could be other possibilities that would work….

Below; the picture frame was attached to the window using Velcro.  The wreath suspended from clear extra strong Nylon thread.

I do hope your enjoying decking the halls, windows, doors, mantelpieces and tree as much as I am!

Thank you for visiting J Loves Interiors and ‘merry festooning’, until next time…

*Main finished window treatment photo by Matt Davis and cropped a bit by me (thank you wonderful Matt), the rest of the photos are mine.
